She spoke only in three word sentences, slowly, and patiently. She’d been relaying her entire life story to him, and now… there was nothing that he did not know about her. He knew everything from the day her dad left, to the day that she ran. She had never thought she would be able to open up to anyone again after what she had been through, but here she was, laying on the rocks under a boardwalk, which she had never seen in the daylight, spilling her story to this boy she had just met.
His eyes were kind, they sparkled like the stars, which had never seemed so bright in her entire life. Something about this boy made her comfortable, and calm. He reached over and held her hand. She would normally pull away, but something told her not to. She turned her head slightly, and looked at him, and with eyes glistening with tears her soul said. “Oh, there you are, I’ve been looking for you.”
